The Lindenwood Review: a journal of literary prose
Volume 1, Issue 3 (2013)
Issue 3 of The Lindenwood Review took root in the thick of autumn. We discussed stories and poems and essays at the Historic Daniel Boone Home and Heritage Center. Striking fall colors surrounded us, the leaves taking on all the best crayon-box shades: melon, salmon, scarlet, mustard, copper. We sat around a table near a stone fireplace in the Callaway House, lamplit, with 19th-century windows framing scenes of the village outside. We took breaks to walk the grounds and take countless photographs, listening to the crackle of dried leaves, lost in a different era. Our days there were dreamlike, our senses heightened with the atmosphere around us and the literature we were reading and discussing. This is what putting together a book should feel like.Fiction
