Abstract
This paper discusses the significance of adult day care. Adult day care services are greatly under-publicized. The need to recognize and promote this service is the focus of this paper. Adult day care provides an invaluable service to the elderly and caregivers of the elderly. The literature supports the importance, benefits, and justification of adult day care. Types of models and various services are described. Results of a survey conducted to determine strengths, concerns in management of programs, fees, etc., and activities observed at four adult day care centers are discussed.
