Abstract

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate the life cycle in the development of an information system. Many coordinated activities are involved in this process. The system development methodology is a standard way to organize and coordinate these activities. If this methodology is followed, the systems analyst can enter a completely unfamiliar organization and perform systems work and develop a productive information system. Of course, the more one knows about a particular organization, the better one can perform systems work.
The systems development methodology is being presented in five phases as it relates to the information systems building blocks.
