Abstract
Many new products fail due to poor data or inadequate planning. The purpose of this thesis was to develop and outline a marketing plan that would effectively coordinate the marketing mix elements: price, product, promotion, and distribution into a focused strategy, reducing the risk of failure for Emerson Motor Division's new recreational pump motor line. The following plan was determined to be an effective strategy to successfully penetrate the Nema 56 Recreational Pump motor market by two experts with Fractional Horsepower Motor Industry experience. Accordingly, this project provides a thorough, accurate analysis of the relevant data from which an effective marketing plan for Emerson's Nema 56 pump motor line can be based and evaluated.
