Abstract
Capitol Secrets is a novel about President Mike Adams, President of the United States. When the President's safety is threatened by a member of Congress, he begins to suspect foul play in the death of the previous president. Unsure of who he can trust, he and his Secret Service detail begin to investigate and discover a history of corruption, conspiracy and cover-ups. The more they discover, the more danger the President is in.
President Adams, a former college and professional football star, uses his fame and celebrity to his advantage as he gains election into the Pennsylvania state legislature. Rather than relying on his popularity, he works hard and gains notoriety within his political party. After his initial term, Republican party officials attempt to persuade Mike to run for a House of Representatives seat, but he instead campaigns for the Senate against, and defeats a longtime Republican stalwart. When he arrives in Washington, Mike realizes that, in defeating the incumbent Senator, he has upset a group of established, powerful], multi-term Congressmen, who are his first suspects when his own life is later threatened.
