Abstract
Breaking and Entering is designed as a model for unpublished authors to follow in submitting a book proposal. The text of the project is an analysis of the examples provided and the examples form an actual book proposal. The result is a working model .
Identity Crisis is the book in question. A query letter, outline, synopsis, and the first three chapters are provided as the examples of a book proposal. They are preceded by an analysis of the book in the context of a marketing strategy : how the book will sell and whom to market it to. The analysis follows Identity Crisis from its concept development, through the writing process, tailoring the book to a specific market, then submitting the book for publication as shown in the examples .
