Abstract
This project explores potential mechanisms for improving mental health, with a specific focus on trauma and PTSD, through the use of flow state and immersive digital experiences. These concepts are discussed in the context of video game design, which allows for an analysis of gameplay (ludic) features as well as narrative elements. Components are considered in isolation and as part of a greater whole, with commercially developed titles used as examples of successful design.
