Comments

On the Razzle is based on the 19th century Austrian play Einen Jux will er sich Machen, which was the basis for Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, which was the basis for Hello, Dolly! In brief, Razzle is Hello, Dolly! without the music. And without Dolly. Weinberl and Christopher are employees in Herr Zangler’s grocery on the outskirts of Vienna. Zangler – along with his new assistant, Melchior – is going to Vienna to propose to Madame Knorr, his fiancée, leaving Weinberl and Christopher in charge of the store.
