Deaf Culture in Japan versus the United States
Start Date

Description
Deaf culture in both Japan and the United States are very rich in culture yet, very different. They are very similar in ways like culture, education, the way that society looks upon their cultures, and the way that hearing society looks at and approaches deafness. Deaf culture in Japan and the United States also differs a lot from each other, with how their sign languages function as languages, the ways that communication with deaf people developed, and the history of how their separate cultures and languages developed. However, regardless of where people live, Deaf people all share the experience of being Deaf and sharing Deaf culture.
