Abstract

The concept of beauty has fascinated philosophers, artists, and scholars throughout history. It is a complex, multidimensional concept that is influenced by cultural, historical, and individual factors. In Western philosophy, beauty is associated with various principles, such as symmetry, proportion, and aesthetics, and it can be characterized by qualities such as complexity, simplicity, unity, balance, and uniqueness. Beauty is also connected to the notion of the sublime, aesthetic experience, emotions, and the senses, as well as the moral and ethical dimensions of life. Beauty is not limited to the visual arts, but extends to other fields such as music, literature, design, architecture, and even science and technology. Although standards of beauty have been established in Western philosophy, the concept of beauty remains highly subjective and open to interpretation. Thus, beauty is a complex and contested concept that continues to inspire inquiry and exploration across disciplines.
