Abstract
Written from Fayette, Missouri, B. H. Reeves informs G. C. Sibley that he has not received recent intelligence from Colonel Mather regarding their project. Reeves relays a previous message from Mather stating that the Secretary of War indicated no arrangements would be made in time to join Sibley that spring. Concluding that no further work will be done on the road that season, Reeves expresses anxiety for Sibley's return so they may file their report and "close the business"
