Abstract

Thanks to the unexpected scientific progress of the Russians, we Americans have finally turned critical eyes on our own educational system. We are even beginning to recognize that our young people have brains and should be given an opportunity to use them in school. Accordingly various disciplines, especially the sciences, are stiffening their requirements with admirable ruthlessness.
