Abstract
Barth was an influential German-speaking Swiss pastor and theologian in the 20th century who was expelled from Germany in 1935 after refusing to subscribe to required oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler. McMaken’s presentation will include discussion of how Barth’s doctrine of God is defined by the relationship between love and freedom.
