Abstract
MFA in Writing program director Beth Mead read from her short story collection Dancing Madly (Adelaide Books 2019). She discussed the publication process and the therapeutic value of writing about and fictionalizing difficult personal experiences. The stories in Dancing Madly explore how we keep trying to survive in our flawed ways as life breaks us down, sends us spinning—that mad dance that gets us through each day.
